I'd like to install my old deskjet 960c on my new laptop with Windows 7. The HP site says the drivers are in the operating system. Download ccc-5.1.6.5566.zip free trial version. I connected the printer to the computer, but it is not recognizing it so it won't install the driver. I bought a new cable for the printer that connects it with a usb so it's not the original cable that came with the printer.

The computer recognizes the cable, but says that no printer is attached. Printer is on and connections are tight. Thanks for any help or advise because I'd rather not have to buy a new printer now.
