For the e-mail address log on to PRAYER IN OPPOSITION TO THE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH BILL OF 2008 (HB 5043) Loving Father, through the intercession of San Lorenzo Ruiz, we beg You not to allow us to be deceived by the wrong directives of laws that do not give value to family and to life.

May we see the hidden truth behind the seemingly good but deceptive arguments that will bring about widespread destruction of the morality of the Filipino family as well endanger the innocent life of the unborn child. Touch and guide the hearts of our law makers. Assist them in the path of renewal that they may bring about the dream of society towards honorable and peaceful way of living in accordance with the culture for life and love. Help us Father, we who are burdened by the struggles of these modern times.

Grant us the courage to fight those forces that threaten the peace of the family. Help us to offer our individual crosses for the good of the Church. Through the power of the cross of Jesus, may all our decisions and works be in accordance with Your will so that we may be worthy of your blessings. We ask this in the name of Your Son together with the prayers of our Mother Mary. (An English translation from the Pilipino text courtesy of the Diocese of Pasig) PRO-LIFE THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES SERIES. After a month long travel delay due to four devastating typhoons and the worst flooding in 40 years, PFL's International Director, Bob Lalonde arrived in Manila on the first Sunday of Advent and began our prolife work by attending Mass at St Francis of Assisi Parish.

Fr Pavone wanted Bob to help the Philippines by taking along the latest pro-life weapons with him including his new prayer book 'Pro-Life Reflections for Every Day' and new video 'The Biology of Prenatal Development'. By using embryoscopy, a rare technique involving a tiny camera the size of a pen tip, scientists were able to get breathtaking, real footage of the unborn, which shows how preborn babies have a heartbeat at three weeks, make spontaneous movements at six weeks, and have 90% of the anatomical structures found in adults at eight weeks. What a powerful demonstration of the life of a preborn child. ORATIO IMPERATA FOR THE RESPECT OF ALL HUMAN LIFE God, our loving Father, Creator and lover of all life, You fashioned in your own image and likeness every human person. We thank you for this gift and the freedom to appreciate it Grant us intense eagerness to recognize your image in every person so that respect for all human life becomes our way of life. Give us also the strength and courage to defend and protect the right of all to live as you ordained, from conception to natural death. We pray for your divine healing, comfort and peace for all affected by past abortions.

Grant them strength and the consolation of your presence. Help us serve actively in alleviating the sufferings and troubles of all women with pregnancy problems. Let your Spirit enlighten the minds and open the hearts of those who do not yet fully respect all human life according to your will.

We pray for all our leaders and legislators who must deliberate assiduously on this critical present issue. May they be guided by the grace of the Holy Spirit to act responsibly for the good and well-being of all. May their competence be always steered by humility and fear of the Lord. Mary, our loving Mother, to you we entrust the cause of life. Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of Life with honesty and love to the people of our time.

We make our prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us. Saint Rosa of Lima, pray for us. Saint Lorenzo Ruiz, pray for us. COMMUNITY NEWS.,. ORATIO IMPERATA FOR DELIVERANCE FROM CALAMITIES Almighty Father, we raise our hearts to You in gratitude for the wonders of creation of which we are part, for Your Providence in sustaining us in our needs, and for Your wisdom that guides the course of the universe. We acknowledge our sins against You and the rest of creation.

We have not been good stewards of nature. We have confused Your command to subdue the earth. The environment is made to suffer our wrongdoing, and now we reap the harvest of our abuse and indifference. Global warming is upon us, typhoons, floods, volcanic eruption, and other natural calamities occur in increasing number and intensity. We turn to You, our loving Father, and beg forgiveness for our sins. We ask that we, our loved ones and our hard earned possessions be spared from the threat of calamities, natural and man-made. We beseech You to inspire us all to grow into responsible stewards of Your creation, and generous neighbors to those in need.

Courtesy of the Diocese of Pasig Prayer and Intercession for Peace in Syria God of compassion, hear the cries of the people of Syria. Comfort those who suffer violence. Console those who mourn the dead. Give strength to Syria's neighboring countries to welcome the refugees. Convert the hearts of those who have taken arms and protect those who are comitted to peace.

God of hope, inspire leaders to choose peace over violence and to seek reconciliation with their enemies. Inflame the Universal Church with compassion for the people of Syria and give us hope for a future built on justice for all. We ask this through Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace and Light of the world. Courtesy of the Diocese of Pasig PRAYER TO ST.

MICHAEL Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host - by the Divine Power of God - cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits, who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.

By Pope Leo XIII POPE FRANCIS’ PRAYER FOR JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY Lord Jesus Christ, you have taught us to be merciful like the heavenly Father, and have told us that whoever sees you sees Him. Show us your face and we will be saved. Your loving gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from being enslaved by money; the adulteress and Magdalene from seeking happiness only in created things; made Peter weep after his betrayal, and assured Paradise to the repentant thief.

Let us hear, as if addressed to each one of us, the words that you spoke to the Samaritan woman: “If you knew the gift of God!” You are the visible face of the invisible Father, of the God who manifests his power above all by forgiveness and mercy: let the Church be your visible face in the world, its Lord risen and glorified. You willed that your ministers would also be clothed in weakness in order that they may feel compassion for those in ignorance and error: let everyone who approaches them feel sought after, loved, and forgiven by God.

Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of grace from the Lord, and your Church, with renewed enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives and the oppressed, and restore sight to the blind. We ask this through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Mercy, you who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. From the Servant General Live Pure (Part 21): Purity of Life November 26, 2018 Purity of life is about being pure in word, thought and deed. Assaults on Faith, Family and Life (Part 120):Marriage and Identity Crisis November 23, 2018 The Western world has turned its back on morality and God’s word, and now we all reap the consequences.

There is much inanity and insanity being accepted and promoted. Decide your own gender, age and species. How ridiculous! But more and more are accepting these things.

We see the world and society on a downward spiral, plunging into doom and perdition. Assaults on Faith, Family and Life (Part 119): LGBT Represents Family Values? November 22, 2018 For the liberals, what is good has become bad and what is bad has become good. Unfortunately we are losing the culture wars.

The New Evangelization (Part 246): Prayer and Evangelization November 17, 2018 We look at the parable about the persistent widow and the dishonest judge. This parable has been taken as the call to persistence in prayer. But some think that with persistence in prayer, God will then grant whatever we pray for. Our Theme for 2019 (Part 12): Called to Serve God November 13, 2018 Everything starts with our personal relationship with God. Apart from God we would not have the wisdom to conduct our ways rightly, and apart from God we can do nothing. So how should we act in accord with God’s will and ways? Financial Stewardship (Part 26): The Widow's Mite - 6 November 11, 2018 The story of the widow’s mite is a challenge to us with regard to financial stewardship.

Everything we have belongs to the Lord. Some are entrusted with more and others with less. But the principles for financial stewardship are the same. Our Theme for 2019 (Part 11): Total Dedication November 07, 2018 As holy warriors, we are to take responsibility for our families, both their spiritual well-being and also their participating in the work of the Kingdom. We serve the Lord. Now there are two very important elements of our spiritual life hereour family and our service to God.

We are to do both well, neglecting neither. Our Theme for 2019 (Part 10): The Work of the Generations to Come November 06, 2018 David, a holy warrior himself, was a man after God’s own heart. Just like Joshua, he was committed to serve the Lord, and he committed his family to serve the Lord. Our Theme for 2019 (Part 9): A Household in Service to Christ October 31, 2018 Having a family in Christ involves the whole family. It starts with the husband and wife.

Then the children are also involved. The New Evangelization (Part 245): Elements of the New Evangelization - 5 October 31, 2018 Today’s gospel gives a number of realities with regard to the New Evangelization. Our Theme for 2019 (Part 8): Christ and His Church October 30, 2018 If we and our respective households, that is, the family, are to serve the Lord, a basic foundation is the relationship of husband and wife. In this passage, Paul brings together the principles for such a relationship. The New Evangelization (Part 244): Workers for the Harvest October 18, 2018 Jesus himself was on mission, and “the Lord appointed seventy-two others whom he sent ahead of him in pairs to every town and place he intended to visit.” The New Evangelization (Part 243): Evangelization and War - 2 October 12, 2018 In today’s gospel, Jesus talks about the enemy, the evil one.

People saw him driving out demons and concluded that he did so by the power of Beelzebul. The New Evangelization (Part 242): Political Correctness - 3 October 10, 2018 There were theological or doctrinal issues in the early Church. One such was whether to require Gentile Christians to be circumcised. Today, we have doctrinal differences even at the highest levels of our Church. Due to political correctness, there is a dispute in our Church on how to handle those who are LGBT. The New Evangelization (Part 241): Political Correctness - 2 October 08, 2018 The authentic gospel of salvation in Jesus is the gospel of the cross.

There is no other. However, today there are many other gospels being proclaimed. One very insidious gospel today is the gospel of political correctness. Basically, this is preaching acceptance of sinners without talking to them about their sin. Our Theme for 2019 (Part 7): God and His Family October 07, 2018 The family is a creation of God.

God brings together a man and a woman and makes them one, to be the start of a new family. Our Theme for 2019 (Part 6): Job and His Family October 06, 2018 Job was a righteous man whom the Lord allowed to be assaulted by Satan. He lost everything, except his life. Job never turned against the Lord, despite the seeming injustice he underwent. But in the end, the Lord restored and even doubled his fortunes. The New Evangelization (Part 240): All Things are Vanity September 28, 2018 The Hebrew superlative “vanity of vanities” expresses utmost futility and emptiness and absurdity.

It is radical skepticism about life. It is the sense of powerlessness and inability to change things for the better.

Even God is remote and uncommunicative. Our Theme for 2019 (Part 5): Jesus and His Family September 25, 2018 Mary and Jesus’ cousins wanted to see him but could not go near because of the crowd (v.19). When told that they were standing outside waiting to see him, Jesus said, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and act on it.”.

That was not a rebuke, was not disrespect, and certainly was not saying that Mary does not act on the word of God. On Servant Leadership (Part 143): Authentic Servant Leadership - 3 September 23, 2018 The apostles “had been discussing among themselves on the way who was the greatest.”. This is the case with many spiritual leaders today. They are focused on power, position and prominence, both personally and in the work they do and in the groups they lead.

Our Theme for 2019 (Part 4): A Psalm of Thanksgiving September 18, 2018 Today’s psalm is entitled “Processional Hymn” and is “a psalm of thanksgiving”. It is a hymn inviting people to enter the Temple courts with offerings of thanksgiving to God who created them. Our Theme for 2019 (Part 3): The Centurion September 17, 2018 Our continuing call is to be holy warriors.

And for our theme this year, we look to that holy warrior, Joshua, who led God’s people to take the land promised by God to them. He had told them, “As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Today’s gospel is about the healing of a centurion’s slave. But it is really about the faith of the centurion. He epitomized being a holy warrior.

Our Theme for 2019 (Part 2): Matrix September 16, 2018 Our Theme for 2019 (Part 1): Families on Mission September 08, 2018 God has blessed us tremendously through all of 37 years, and especially during these times. He has been merciful to us, He has saved us, and He has poured out His bountiful blessings upon us. Mary Mediatrix of All Grace and the Holy See Decision June 05, 2016 Given that the Vatican has declared the apparitions in Lipa as lacking in supernatural origin, what happens to our consecration to Mary Mediatrix of All Grace? Basically, we understand that the apparition and the devotion are distinct from each other. The apparition may be without supernatural origin but the devotion is not contrary to Catholic faith. In fact, St John Paul II used the title Mary Mediatrix of all graces and variations of it in various instances, such as Universal Mediatrix of all grace, Mother of all graces, Dispensatrix of all grace, giver of 'all grace', Mediatrix of all grace, and Mediatrix of graces.

Notice that the title we use is Mary Mediatrix of All Grace, with All Grace being a proper noun (versus all graces). We understand All Grace to mean Jesus himself. Marian devotion to this title is not expressly prohibited because it does not counter Church doctrine. During his visit to Tacloban on Jan 17, 2015, Pope Francis venerated a replica of the image of Mary Mediatrix of All Grace at the residence of the Archbishop of Palo.

On June 1, 2015, a replica of the image was venerated and brought in procession in the Church of Saint Catherine adjoining the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, and was attended by the Custos of the Holy Land, Fr Pierbattista Pizzaballa OFM. So we will continue to use and venerate Mary Mediatrix of All Grace as well as the particular statue, even if both are connected with Lipa. We will continue with our consecration prayers as such. However, we will make no mention of Lipa, which in fact we had not been doing. Not Being a True Catholic September 12, 2011 Yes, Archbishop Charles Chaput speaks clearly and with authority. He is not wishy-washy like other clerics and even bishops, who are loath to defend the fullness of the Catholic faith. This is the reality: IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THE CHURCH TEACHES, YOU ARE NOT REALLY CATHOLIC.

Sex Education in Schools Useless and Harmful September 02, 2011 The anti-life legislators in the Philippines continue to insist on mandatory sex education for young children. There is abundant evidence from the experience of many countries that such valueless sex education increases promiscuity and incidences of unwanted pregnancies, STDs and HIV/AIDS. Such a seemingly harmless thing as sex education in schools will actually destroy the family, life and faith. U S Bishop on Unrepentant Pro-abort Pols: Expel him August 12, 2011 It is about time that a US bishop spoke out this clearly and forcefully. Now let us see if the Catholic bishops in the USA actually follow through. 'Purge the evil person from your midst.' (1 Cor 5:13b).

Published in the Philippines, September 2017 Qoheleth II is back! Qoheleth II wrote Femailes Are Fabulous way back in 2003. Given the flak that he got from women, he had to go into hiding, in fear of his life. Now he has emerged. Having spent 14 years in solitude in his cave, he is older and wiser. He now surverys the landscape, and finds the war between men and women still raging and even more fiercly, with the rise of radical feminisim. Baffled and bewildered, this sequel is his attempt to navigate the strormy seas of sexualtiy, complicaterd by the idiocy of gender politics and the lunacy of bowing to the zeitgeist.

Oh, the comforts of the cave! Published in the Philippines, April 2017 The Catholic Church is One, Holy and Apostolic.

Unfortunately there are too many divisions within the body, many of her members are far from holy, the most are not going forth to do the work of Evangelization and Mission. But Mission is crucial, given that darkness in the world today, which is being overwhelmed by a tsunami of evil, with the Church herself buffeted from all sides, and even within. God intends his Church to be his light in the world and the salt of the earth. For that to happen, her members must be united, and grow in holiness and apostolic zeal. This is the great challenge, to be one in Christ and one in mission.

Published in the Philippines, September 2016 El Camino De Santiago (The Way of St. James) has been an attraction for pilgrims for many centuries. It is one of three pilgrimages that have become important for Cathoics, the other two being Jerusalem (the Holy Land) and the Vatican (Rome). James is the James, who with his brother John and their mother Salome, sought to have places of honor at the right and the left of Jesus. Jesus then took that opportunity to teach the apostles about servent leadership.

They never forgot the lesson. James went on to dedicate his life as an apostle and missionary, and ultimately suffered martyrdom. Today there is a great need for holiness, which necessitates an inner pilgrimage. There is a critical need for Catholics to respond to the call to the New Evangelization, to be among those who are sent, that is 'apostles.' And there is a dire need to raise leaders after God's own heart, those who will lead and care for tghe flock of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are fortunate to have many teachers to teach us about authentic servant leadership - from James the Greater, to Samuel the prophet, to David the king, to Peter the first pope, to Paul the great apostle, to Jesus the Messiach. In this book they give us 144 principles of servant leadership.

Take this virtual pilgrimage, and walk the Way of St. James toward a more effective serfvant leadership. Published in the Philippines, December 2015 (Second Edition) The Roman Catholic Church has sounded the call to the New Evangelization. This is a very important prophetic call for the work of the third millennium. At stake is the very future of societies and even the Church. How are we to respond? How are we to understand the call to the New Evangelization?

How can the people of God, especially the laity, participate in the action of the Holy Spirit during these times. One response is the Live Christ, Share Christ (LCSC) movement. LCSC is intended to mainstream Catholic lay evangelization, so that every Catholic will meet Christ, live Christ and share Christ.

Published in the Philippines, October 2015 The world is in darkness. A tsunami of evil is upon us.

Things are going from bad to worse. Is there hope? Yes, there is hope, because there is Christ and his Church. Jesus said, 'I am the light of the world.' Then he says, 'You are the light of the world.' It is up to God's people to dispel the darkness of evil and sin by bringing God's light to shine upon the earth. But we have another problem.

God's people are scattered and lost. And those entrust with their care are themselves unfaithful to their call. These are the shepherds, the pastors, the servant leaders. Many of those called do not know what the call is about, and thus have not responded accordingly. There is a dire need to understand the call to servant leadership.

Human activity has enhanced the greenhouse by burning natural gas, coal and oil- including petrol for vehicles- as this increase the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The land-use changes and farming raises the levels of methane and nitrous oxide. Factories produce long-lasting industrial gases that are not natural to the atmosphere yet contribute significantly to the enhanced greenhouse effect.

The cutting down of trees in forests is also contributing to the greenhouse effect as trees use the carbon dioxide for photosynthesis, giving off oxygen in its place, which helps keep the atmosphere at an ideal balance of gases. Population growth also contributes to the greenhouse effect as more people use the fossil fuels for transportation, manufacturing and heat the level of gases increase in the atmosphere. As the need for food grows with the population so does the farming, this is also increasing the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Essentially, the more greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, the more infrared radiation trapped, which gradually increases the temperature of the Earths surface.
